  • The Child Abuse Prevention Network: A gateway for professionals in the child abuse prevention field. Search for child abuse legislation and news stories.
  • Prevent Child Abuse America: Our national headquarters. Find national research, statistics, public awareness campaigns and contact information for local chapters.
  • The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children: NYSPCC was one of the first child abuse prevention organizations in the country.
  • New York State Office of Children & Family Services: Information about adoption, day care, child protective services, foster care, youth development and more.
  • New York State Department of Health: Get information on health issues and health services available to New York State children and families.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Data, statistics, fact sheets and reports on child maltreatment prevention.
  • CHAMP: Child Abuse Medical Provider Program: CHAMP’s goal is to improve the New York State medical response to suspected child abuse by improving the examination, treatment, documentation, community referral, and management of suspected child abuse cases.
  • Child Abuse Evaluation & Treatment for Medical Providers provides a single, comprehensive source of child abuse information that offers tools and resources with which to diagnose and manage child and adolescent abuse victims. It is a resource for medical providers who do not have a background or expertise in child abuse pediatrics and are striving to develop best practice standards for their patient care setting.
  • Child Abuse and Children with Disabilities: A New York State perspective on the complicated issue of child abuse and children with disabilities. Includes articles, links, contacts, medical concerns, a glossary of "disability jargon," videos and medical concerns.
  • Crimes Against Children Research Center: The mission of the Crimes against Children Research Center (CCRC) is to combat crimes against children by providing high quality research and statistics to the public, policy makers, law enforcement personnel, and other child welfare practitioners. CCRC is concerned with research about the nature of crimes including child abduction, homicide, rape, assault, and physical and sexual abuse as well as their impact.

  • New York State Family Resources: Resources for parents, youth, and professionals on subject areas that include child development and behavior, child safety, special needs, children's health, family crisis, peer relations, stress management and more.
  • PBS Parents: Focuses on child development, fun and games, education, child rearing issues and advise, and information on PBS programming.
  • Baby Center: A complete resource for pregnancy and baby.
  • Kids Health: A Nemours Foundation web site that offers extensive articles on childhood illnesses and health issues.
  • National Runaway Switchboard (NRS): For runaways and their parents. The NRS also focuses on prevention by educating parents about typical teen behavior and at-risk teen behavior.
  • About Smiles: About Smiles educates parents about the importance of oral health, encouraging them to be prepared to care for their children’s teeth and to know what to expect as their children grow.

  • Kids Health: A Nemours Foundation web site that offers kids and teens advice about physical and emotional health.
  • National Runaway Switchboard (NRS): A resource for teenagers who have or are thinking about running away from home.
  • Teen Central: A web site for and by teens. A place for teens to get help for their problems.
