2008 Pinwheels for Prevention Events in New York

CASA of Chautauqua County: Planting a pinwheel garden at county family court facility. Pinwheels will represent the number of children CASA has advocated for since 2004.
Chemung
Economic Opportunity Program: Children involved in the Head Start and New Day programs will plant pinwheel gardens at all sites.

CASA of Fulton & Montgomery Counties: Public planting event of pinwheel gardens with local dignitaries.

Jefferson
Resolution Center of Jefferson & Lewis Counties: Using pinwheels are part of the Child Abuse Awareness Campaign and will plant a pinwheel garden in front of the county court house during a "Light of Hope" Ceremony to honor all who work with children and families in our county.
Monroe
Family Resource Centers of Crestwood Children's Center: Giving pinwheels to families involved in their programs and having a presentation about preventing child abuse in parent groups that are offered at the center. Each pinwheel will have a note attached stating, "Every child deserves a chance to be raised in a safe, healthy, nurturing environment."

Child Abuse Prevention Program: Pinwheel gardens will be created in each of the five boroughs of NYC. Each pinwheel will represent an elementary school that received the CAPP Child Safety Workshop. The gardens will help raise awareness to the Adopt a Boro Program.

Family & Children's Service of Niagara/Healthy Families Niagara: Displaying pinwheel garden outside two of their sites.
Oneida
The Peacemaker Program: Incorporating pinwheels into their annual fundraiser by asking the community to come plant the pinwheels, which represent each child they helped in 2006.

Orange County CASA: Planning to create pinwheel gardens throughout Orange County including at their Government Center, Housing Resource Building, local merchants and libraries.
