Time Out for Parents
Time out for parents…means just that. Parents need a time out. At the moment parents feel like blowing up…right before they blow up, they need to do something other than yell, curse, or hit a child. They need a time out! Unfortunately many parents are conditioned by the way they were raised. If their parents yelled, they yell. If they were hit, they hit. It just won’t work. In this keynote presentation, participants will learn that self-awareness and self-care are truly effective strategies in child abuse prevention. When parents can take care of their needs, they have a bigger capacity to take care of their children.

In this keynote, with Craig’s interactive, direct, and humorous style, he will move us to understand that self-awareness is essential in child abuse prevention; realize that true acceptance is the first step; discover our true motivations for a truer, kinder response to children; be able to work with parents from our own place of fullness; learn proven strategies to deal with our own stress and strategies to teach parents; not take ourselves too seriously in the serious work that we do; and bring more compassion to ourselves and the people we serve.
