Step Up to Prevent Child Abuse
at the 2010 Walk for Children!

Capital Region individuals, families, businesses and organizations will step up to prevent child abuse on October 16, by taking part in the 2010 Walk for Children.

Join us for an event for the whole family, featuring children's games, activities, arts, crafts, and a walk through the park to support safe and happy childhoods for all of New York's children.

The walk will kick off at 10 a.m. at Albany's Washington Park Lake House, wind through the park, and end back at the Lake House for a celebration of food and prizes. The walk is a rain or shine event.

You can walk individually or you can organize a team of family, friends, or co-workers.

Every step you take and every dollar you raise helps to fund child abuse prevention programs!

How do you participate in the 2010 Walk for Children?
  1. Register. If you prefer not to register online, call 1-800-CHILDREN.
  2. Get sponsors. A great first step in getting sponsors is to create your own personal fundraising page. Our Walker Fundraising Handbook includes many terrific fundraising ideas. Please call 1-800-CHILDREN if you would like some collection envelopes for your sponsorship money.
  3. Walk! Check in at the Lake House at 9 a.m. on October 16. The walk will begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine.
We hope you'll join us for food, fun, entertainment, prizes and celebration at the 2010 Walk for Children!
